Edit 2022/10/28: Shout out to fellow writer Dino for their code on ignoring static pages!

Write.as has their comment system called “Remark.as”, which is like forum and guestbook combined. It doesn’t come free, even after I became a Pro subscriber. To use Remark.as, a one-off fee of $10 is needed. Even then, ONLY Pro members can leave comments. From my observations, this reduced the potential comments I may receive, valuable or not. I therefore decided to put the comment box right where it belongs.

I rent my blog from Write.as and I host my simple portfolio on Cloudflare Pages. Having someone else manage my website is great, but it comes with a problem. I can’t control much of the security aspects.

For instance, I have little to no control over what headers are sent from services I use. GitHub Pages support custom domains, but as of 2022, they still do not support injecting HSTS headers; This is also the same with Write.as; Cloudflare does support HSTS, that’s why I use them in the first place.

Oh yes… I have a new domain.

The old one is too long and not really memorable. So I got a new one:

karsten.ooo

As a result this blog will use blog.karsten.ooo as the address.

Plus I shoved the domain back to Cloudflare so I can use HSTS once again.

I’ve always been having trouble making friends. Not that I am mentally-ill, probably… But because I had been bad at socializing since I was young.

I wasn’t very famous at school, partly because I disliked (and still dislike) studying for nothing. Spoon-fed, modal answers based education is not exactly my forte. Plus, I have been a troublemaker in the past. These made me highly unpopular back then, when I was like 6 to 12 maybe?
